CHALLENGE
Creating a Brand from Scratch
Canary was born as a small batch, direct trade, and ethically sourced DTC coffee brand. Canary wanted a new identity system that will span across an updated bespoke Web UX and packaging that will go into the hands of consumers looking for an affordably priced but substantive coffee.
APPROACH
Working Collaboratively
For Canary, I had the opportunity to pull in our design team to work together on this project. After the discovery session with the client, we came up with five keywords that best fit the brand. Using those keywords, we pulled visual references and created stylescapes for our client to see.
BRIEF ITEM EYEBROW
Project Header
After the client selects their favorite visual direction, we worked to focus and refine the visual identity of the brand. The most efficient way for us to continue working was to rapidly iterate mockups of the primary packaging for the brand, giving us the chance to iterate and refine logo, type, color palettes all at once while concurrently getting feedback for packaging direction from the client.
